DEEPWORKER

Scope of Work - EBDG's column-stabilized and dynamically-positioned DEEPWORKER, work-over and subsea support vessel, has a footprint of 260' by 104' to maximize open deck space. It has minimum motion characteristics similar to drilling semi-submersibles and is designed to meet ABS DP3 and DnV NMD Class 3 with required failure mode redundancies. The hull is designed to provide well over 20 years of unrestricted worldwide service to meet ABS and DnV SWATH or MODU criteria.

A 60' wide, clear center work alley between the center moonpool and stern, with at least 10' of clear head room, is provided to maximize all mission work areas. Dedicated marine systems routing and vent lines placed within the upper hull decks provide a virtually obstruction-free upper work area. The dedicated ROV area allows for independent operations from the work-over well. The hull is sized to support a payload of 1500 LT plus 10 percent margin. The light ship budget includes a 15 percent growth margin.

The footprint has an adequate length-to-beam ratio for speed and performance and supports a large payload plus additional margin-over-mission requirements. The lower hulls are designed with maximum parallel mid-body to simplify fabrication. This structure will result in reduced fabrication schedule and cost. The machinery system provides at least 75 percent excess power for the propulsion and DP system to ensure adequate margin and load sharing capabilities. Access and egress have been emphasized for the safety of all compartments.
