Sr. Marine Electrical Engineer
It’s an exciting time to be in the marine business and Elliott Bay Design Group (EBDG) is seeking a qualified marine electrical engineer to join its team of professionals. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering and/or Electrical Engineering. Position requirements include:
- 10+ years experience in marine electrical engineering
- Current knowledge of USCG regulations as well as class society rules (ABS, DnV, Lloyds, etc)
- Skilled in development of marine system designs for power, propulsion, communications, navigation, alarm and monitoring, lighting, auxiliaries, and other ship systems for various types vessels
- Should be able to perform calculations associated with marine systems, including Electrical Load Analysis, Cable Voltage Drop, Electrical Fault Analysis, etc, using spreadsheets or commercial software developed for the purpose
- Professional engineer status is required
Preferred candidates will have at least two years of on-board ship operating experience and/or experience in a shipyard providing production engineering.
Experience using design software and AutoCAD are desired but not mandatory, provided you are willing and interested in acquiring these skills.
Work will primarily be in an office environment (5 days per week typically) with occasional travel for client and project meetings, inspections, and testing. The successful candidate will have excellent writing and oral communication skills and will be able to work both independently and with a team. Proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.A. is a requirement. No second party referrals or contact, please.
This is a permanent position at EBDG. You will be working closely with a team of experienced naval architects, marine engineers, and marine designers.
